As we continue our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Philippians, we're in Chapter 3, with a focus on relying on God's grace not our own works, living for heaven, and knowing God personally.
We talk about weeping for the lost, praying earnestly for people who need Jesus, and aiming our children as ARROWS for God. In this lesson, we focus on a 3rd part of an arrow, the SHAFT (which needs to be straight and solid), representing the solid WORD OF GOD.
Two key verses from Philippians 3:
In today's episode, we're continuing our verse-by-verse Bible study going through the Book of Philippians, in Chapter 2, verses 1-30. We talk about the surrendered life of Jesus, coming to earth and going to the CROSS out of love for this world, and raising our children to follow His example.
Key thoughts include the power of the Name of Jesus (and teaching our kids to pray "in Jesus' Name"), living lives with self-sacrifice and total surrender to God, obeying God when no one is looking, and as a mission-minded family, the importance of honoring those who have sacrificed for the sake of the Gospel.
We also look at the 2nd part of the ARROW, the 3-vein "fletching," which allows the arrow to spin in flight with accuracy and stability -- representing the importance of training our children to have a personal living and vibrant relationship with our God (the Trinity): God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under th earth, and that every tongue shold confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." --Philippians 2:10-11
"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." --Philippians 1:12-13
In today's QUICK QUESTION, we're addressing the FEAR of what others think. Living with a focus on the opinions of others is a trap and a snare. The Bible calls it the FEAR OF MAN (or of people). Learn how to address this FEAR, through the power of the Word of God and by FAITH.
In today's episode, we're beginning a brand-new Bible study, starting verse-by-verse through the Book of Philippians, Chapter 1, verses 1-30. Key thoughts include being "BONDSERVANTS" of Christ and "SAINTS" (verse 1), living by God's GRACE (verses 2 and 6), and living everyday for God's GLORY (verse 11). Special focus is also about living with NO FEAR, and raising our children to be ARROWS for God.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." ---Philippians 1:6

In this episode, we're completing our study through the book of Titus, today in Titus 3:8-15. The focus is how to MAINTAIN good works. How do we keep doing what God has called for us to do? How do we even go beyond the maintenance-mode of cultural Christianity and truly ENJOY loving and serving the Lord?
Two key verses are 3:8, "be careful to maintain good works" and 3:14, "and learn to maintain good works."
We're not saved by our self-efforts or by merely doing good things, but God does have "good works" prepared for us to do for His kingdom and His glory.
As we continue our verse-by-verse Bible study, today in Titus 3:1-7, our focus is being prepared for every good work, by putting our hope in God's grace and the blood of Jesus Christ. This edition includes an introduction to The Scarlet Cord, Nothing but the Blood of Jesus (a concise call to world missions, by Jon & Ann Dunagan, available as a FREE eBook download -- http://harvestministry.org/the-scarlet-cord -- listen for details and the DISCOUNT CODE on the podcast).
Highlights in this episode include teaching about daring to OBEY (including an encouragement to wives about attitudes at home), to be READY for every good work, to be SWEET, to be free from sin, and to be full of HOPE.
Titus 3:1 "...to be ready for every good work."

In this episode, our focus is a mission-minded Bible study in the second-half of Titus Chapter 2, (verses 9-15). Highlights include a few quotes from Elisabeth Elliot, plus a Bible study focus on "exhorting" moms, God's grace and salvation through Jesus, keeping a focus on eternity, and being ZEALOUS for good works.
Following our verse-by-verse study, Ann Dunagan also addresses several practical questions from real-life moms from Louisiana, Indiana, and Washington.
"Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people zealous for good works" (Titus 2:13-14).
As we continue our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Titus, today beginning chapter 2, Ann Dunagan discusses the balance between DOING GOOD as busy-at-home moms (in raising and loving our children and families) along with having a passionate heart for the needs of the world. Are we called to love the Lord, or to raise our little ones? Or is it possible to do both?
A key verse is Titus 2:7 which says, "in all things, showing yourself to be a pattern of good works..."
